Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and how to reach us about it.

Effective date: November 6, 2026

Who we are

Local Rank Authority ("we," "us") is a local marketing business based in New York's Capital Region. This policy covers localrankauthority.com, our client portal, our phone line and text messages, and the services we provide.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Free Local Visibility Score: your website address, business name, main service, and city. If you unlock the full results, your name, email, and phone number if you add it.
  • Contact form: your name, business name, email, phone, website, the topic you pick, and your message.
  • Audit intake form: contact details, your services, towns, and competitors, and any optional answers about your business, such as years in business, team size, or revenue range. Optional answers are used only to plan your work and are never published or shown in your report.
  • Client portal: your email address for sign-in links, your checklist progress, and messages you send us.
  • Website chat: the messages you send our AI chat assistant, and any contact details you choose to share in the chat, such as your name, email, phone, business, and website.
  • Calls and texts: your phone number, and what you tell us or our AI receptionist.
  • Account access you choose to give us, such as read-only access to Google Search Console or Analytics during an audit.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, used to limit repeated requests and prevent abuse of the free score and discount codes.
  • Basic server logs kept by our hosting provider, such as the pages requested and the time of the request.

Public information about your business

To score and audit a business, we review public information: your website, search results, map listings, reviews, directories, social profiles, and what AI assistants say about you.

How we use it

  • To run your free score and email you the results you ask for.
  • To answer your questions, schedule calls, and send proposals.
  • To deliver audits and services, and to run your client portal.
  • To send follow-up messages about your request. You can opt out at any time.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
  • To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with other companies for their own marketing.

Who helps us process it

We use a small number of service providers. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job:

  • Cloudflare: hosts this website and stores form submissions and portal data.
  • Resend: delivers our emails, including sign-in links and results.
  • Google (PageSpeed Insights and Gemini) and SerpApi: receive your website address, business name, service, and city to measure speed, look up rankings, and check AI answers. They don't receive your email or phone number.
  • DM Champ: runs the AI chat assistant on this website, stores chat conversations, and passes them to Michael. The assistant's replies are written by an AI model that DM Champ provides, so what you type in the chat is processed by DM Champ and its AI provider.
  • Stripe: processes card payments if you pay online. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Phone, texting, and AI voice providers: handle calls and texts to our business number. Today these are Google Voice and xAI (which runs our AI phone assistant).

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

Cookies and tracking

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in to the client portal, and the small amount of browser storage the chat assistant uses to keep your conversation going from page to page. We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't run third-party analytics or ad trackers on this site. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and our contact page shows a Google Maps view of our general area. Google receives your IP address when these load, and the map may set Google's own cookies. See Google's privacy policy for how it uses that information.

Calls and text messages

If you text or call us, or give us your number and agree to receive texts, we use your number to reply about your request. Mobile numbers and text-messaging consent are never shared with or sold to third parties for their marketing. See our SMS Terms for details, including how to stop messages.

Calls to our business line may be answered by an AI receptionist, and may be recorded and summarized so Michael can follow up. You'll be told at the start of the call.

How long we keep it

  • Free score results: the full report is deleted after 30 days. Your contact details are kept as described below.
  • Inquiries and sales conversations: as long as we need them to respond, follow up, and keep business records. Ask us and we will delete them.
  • Client records, reports, and invoices: as long as you're a client, then as long as tax and legal rules require.

Your choices

  • Ask what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Opt out of follow-up emails with the link in any email, or by telling us.
  • Stop text messages by replying STOP.

We'll respond within 30 days. Some information may need to be kept for legal or accounting reasons, and we'll tell you if that applies. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under your state's privacy law, and we'll honor them.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), sign-in links that expire, access limited to the owner, and providers with strong security practices. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll notify you as New York law requires.

Children

Our services are for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell clients by email.
