Marquee Moments

A brand-new event rental business went from an unknown name in early 2024 to the top of Google for the searches that bring it work in Albany. Here's what we built, what it shows today, and what's still left to do.

Marquee Moments is my wife Laiala Margonar's business. I've handled its marketing since launch, so I can show you everything, including what isn't working yet. Every number on this page was checked on November 6, 2026.

The business

Marquee Moments rents 4-foot light-up marquee letters, numbers, and symbols for weddings, birthdays, graduations, proposals, and corporate events across Albany, Saratoga, Troy, Schenectady, and the rest of the Capital Region. Every rental is full service: delivery, professional setup, and removal. Packages start at $499.

The challenge

  • No name to start with. The domain was registered in January 2024. Nobody was searching for “Marquee Moments”, so every customer had to come from a general search.
  • People search for it in different ways. “Marquee letters,” “light up letters,” “marquee letters for a wedding.” The business had to show up for all of them, town by town.
  • Established competitors. The other names in Google's map results carry 27 to 109 reviews. Marquee Moments started with none.
  • A premium price. At $499 and up, people need to trust you before they ask for a quote, and they want a price before they call.

The Marquee Moments Event Estimate Builder: a Luminous Package starting at $749 beside a form where the customer types their message
The estimate builder answers the first question every customer has, “how much?”, any time of day, and turns a visitor into a lead with event details before Laiala ever picks up the phone.

Why the estimate builder matters

Most rental sites say “call for pricing,” and many visitors leave instead. Marquee Moments lets people design their display, pick lighting upgrades, and see a preliminary price, after they share their contact and event details.

That means the business hears from people who already know the price range, and it has their date, venue, and message before the first conversation.

The jingle

“Make Your Moment Shine”

In her words

Local Rank Authority brought so much creativity and care to our business, Marquee Moments! They took the time to understand our marquee letter rental services and helped us present our brand in a way that feels professional, welcoming, and true to who we are.

One of my favorite parts was the custom jingle they created for us! “MarqueeMoments.net — make your moment shine” captures our business perfectly. It’s catchy, memorable, and gives our marketing so much personality. I still catch myself singing it!

From our website to the little details that make our brand stand out, the thought and attention behind the work really showed. We felt heard, supported, and excited about what we were creating together.

Highly recommend Local Rank Authority to any small business looking for creative, personalized help bringing their brand to life!

Google searches run November 6, 2026. Results vary with the searcher's location, so someone standing in each town may see a different order.

The standout: in Google Maps, Marquee Moments sits at #1 for marquee letter rentals in Albany and Schenectady with only 2 reviews, ahead of businesses with 27 to 109. That's a strong position, and reviews are how to keep it, which is why they're first on the to-do list below.

AI answers

Named by Gemini, 2 out of 2

We asked Google's Gemini “Who is the best marquee letter rental in Albany, NY?” and “Who's reliable and fairly priced?” It named Marquee Moments both times, citing marqueemoments.net and describing it as the choice for “seamless full-service delivery for weddings and large parties.”

What's next

A case study that only shows wins isn't much use to you. Here's what the same research says to work on next.

  • Reviews. Two Google reviews against competitors with 27 to 109 is the biggest gap. Every finished event should end with a simple, honest request for a review.
  • Troy, and weddings outside Albany. Marquee Moments doesn't show up yet for “marquee letter rental Troy NY” or for wedding searches in Saratoga, Schenectady, and Troy. Those pages need real local detail: venues served, photos from events there, and reviews from those towns.
  • More local detail on every town page. The service-area pages share a lot of the same wording. Adding what's genuinely different about each place makes them more useful to visitors and to Google.
  • Tracking bookings. Rankings are a means to an end. Next we'll report inquiries and booked events alongside rankings, so the results above can be measured in revenue.

How we checked

Rankings come from live Google searches on November 6, 2026. AI answers come from Google's Gemini on the same day. Speed scores come from Google PageSpeed Insights, and the site score from our free Local Visibility Score. Competitor review counts are as shown in Google's map results that day. Nothing here is estimated.
